Lambs To Slaughter tells the story of a young single mother mourning the murder of her son.Time seems to stand still for this woman as she becomes overwhelmed by her grief. With help
from her best friend Athena and the care of her good friend Paul, Joan wrestles with her reality.
The loss of a child will always be devastating, but the loss of a child to gun violence could easily be too much for any parent to bear. Can Joan learn to love again with her broken heart?

Khalil Kain ("Juice", "Girlfriends", "For Colored Girls") was born and raised in New York City. He is a veteran actor best known for his turn as "Raheem" in the urban classic film JUICE. Khalil has been in eight feature films, last seen in Tyler Perry's "For Colored Girls". Khalil Kain has had consistent work on television. He played the character Darnell as a series regular on the show Girlfriends for six seasons. Khalil directed a production of Sam Shepard's

BURIED CHILD at Aaron Davis Hall on the campus of City College in Harlem USA. LAMBS TO SLAUGHTER is Khalil's first play. It has been workshopped at the Cell as part of the Blackboard Reading Series and C'MORE Festival.

Cheryl Davis is an award-winning playwright and former writer on the show "As The World Turns", where she received a Writers Guild Award and was nominated for a daytime Emmy.
She has received the Kleban Award as a librettist for her musical "Barnstormer", about Bessie Coleman, the first Black woman flyer. The show, which was written with composer Douglas J. Cohen, also received a Jonathan Larson Award through the Lark Play Development Center. Her play "Maid’s Door" received great reviews and won seven Audelco Awards, and is scheduled for production at the North Carolina Black Rep. Her play "The Color of Justice" (commissioned by Theatreworks/USA), received excellent reviews in the New York Times and Daily News, and tours regularly. Her musical "Bridges", which was commissioned by the Berkeley Playhouse, received its world premiere in February 2016 to great reviews.
Her work has been read and performed internationally, including at the Cleveland Play House, the Actors Theatre of Louisville, and the Kennedy Center. She is a partner at the law firm of Menaker & Herrmann LLP.

Synopsis: Nat has just returned home from battle. At least in his mind he has. He's an aspiring rapper and revolutionary who after a four year stint in prison for bashing in a cop car while protesting the unjust murder of an old childhood friend, he returns to his old stomping grounds like, so....now what? What does revolution look like now? Is it allowing himself to love and be loved? Is it the healing of family wounds that still need to mend? Is it in his music? Just a pad and pen? Or is it all really within himself? Has it been that the whole time? He's got some thangs he needs to figure out! With the help of some of his family members and close friends, his journey takes some exciting yet challenging spins. But what's a journey without a twist or two?

Shawn Nabors is an actor, writer and musician from Brooklyn with an MFA from the American Repertory Theatre/Moscow School of the Arts at Harvard University. This past April, he released his debut mixtape "GATEKEEPERS" under his middle name, Christopher Lovell. Up next he'll be participating in a nine month writing residency with The Liberation Theatre Company where he will be developing a brand new piece. He began working on "America, and the Adventures of Nat Turn-UP" while studying abroad in Moscow in 2015. He is beyond humbled and grateful to be sharing this iteration of the play and is elated about the opportunity to develop it further. Synopsis: Set in the present day Bay Area, CA: Yhá Mourhia Wright’s ‘Sins Have Come : An American Story,’ follows Kevin Moore, a biracial young man battling to improve his mental health and his “half” older sister Jessica, while they are trapped in their home in the aftermath of an alleged crime committed the night before. As the two are forced to devise a plan to confront their loved ones and the media, they must face some dark secrets buried in their family history. Together and apart, they are at war with the past and weary about their future.
